It looks "home made" to me - and made by somebody who had a high level of engineering skill. The burner nozzle has the same knurling as the pump cap. Some of the parts are from a factory made lantern no doubt, and the wall bracket/floor plate recycled from something else. The tank reminds me of a water bottle. Or maybe a hot water bottle. I am sure somebidy here will identify the lantern parts. A very interesting object !
@Marko57 To my mind, the burner looks very similar to an AGM 334 or 335 burner. Am I right, @Mackburner? Best regards Tony
@Fireexit1 Trust me it's not home made as for who made it ???? I may never know. The heavy brass plated control wheel reminds me of what used on our Aussie SEQR wall lamps. But that could of been changed decades ago, it just stinks of being Australian made.
@Marko57 I was saying to @Anthony the other day that this lamp had an SEQR feel about it. Wgere did you find it? Tony
@Tony Press Hello Tony, I found it at a local swap meet but the seller was from the northern rivers area, near Lismore NSW. I just went down and removed the filler cap and control wheel / spindle and both fitted nice on my SEQR lamp. Maybe just maybe the AKRON Lamp Co of Australia made it, I do hope so. It's brass control wheel was also the same dia as 4 of my SEQR lamps just different in its thickness as they all were different to each other.
@Marko57 If I were a betting man, I’d have a punt on SEQR/Akron Australia. The lamp production quarter in Melbourne was pretty free and easy with other companies’ products and designs, and the Australian Akron had very tenuous (if any) direct link to the USA as far as I can tell. If it’s the same seller that I know from near Lismore, they turn up with very interesting gear! Cheers Tony
