Hi there everyone. I went to the local flea market and scored these lanterns. The one in the middle is a Tilly 860x in really good condition for only $30. I have never seen the Tilley with the assist starter thing on it. How old would these lamps be? The other two Dietz hurricane lamps I couldn't pass up as they have never been lit before and were also cheap. The larger of the two is a No20 Junior and the smaller is a no 76. Happy days! I have to put a few more nails in the shed to hang my new lanterns. I have bought seven now in the last month. Bloody addictive! IMG_1419.JPG

I don't know about the Dietz lanterns but the Tilley is model X359. 860X is a date code, the numbers definitely represent month and year, so 8 = August, 60 = year 1960. It is not known for certain what the letters mean. Check out Tilley X359 in the Lamp Refence Gallery.

An X359 for $30 bucks, with the tillite pre-burner bargain mate.
