    This poor old girl has a stress crack next to the filler cap, bummer.

    That definitely looks more AGM than Quirks. Probably the model that inspired Quirks to make their own. The details are a bit more stylish / finished than the Quirks model.

    There is no catalogue or advert evidence that AGM ever directly sold a portable bracket lamp but this is probably AGM model 178. This lamp turns up here labelled as Stanleys listed as their model 178 and Stanleys always used the original manufacturers model numbers so it’s very probably the correct AGM No. I believe Matty found an unmarked example in Aus a few years back and this looks like a second so I suspect they were made as an export model for Stanleys here and maybe Quirks in Aus. ::Neil::

    Another great lamp, @Marko57.

    That stress crack looks very bad, so very difficult to repair.

    Cheers

    Hello Neil
    The lamp I have will be the one Matty told you about before he went missing in action, I do know of one other but have not seen it or any pic's of it so it could be a standard Quirks wall lamp.
    I do have a pendant lamp with a different style tank which Matty did say was Stanley/Quirks, I will do a post showing it.
    Cheers Marko

    @Nils Stephenson
    Hi Nils
    To me it was made by AGM even has one of their rotten stress cracks untill old mate told me maybe Quirks
    could of had something to with it. Now Stanley has been mentioned by Neil.
    The search goes on.
    Cheers Marko.

    @Mackburner
    I just checked the Stanleys page and yes it's the same as the one you have listed, just with no name tag.
    So as mine was found in Australia, should this post be moved to.
    Australia - Others - QUIRKS ?????

    Ah well maybe BUT it's not marked so we have no evidence of who sold it allthough we do know who made it and anyway we list lamps by brand/manufacturer not in general the retailer and there is nothing in this lamp to suggest any part actually made in Aus so it rightly belongs with AGM in the USA. Bit of a hard call really as I suspect they are unique to Aus and most likely retailed by Quirks. ::Neil::
