Tilley self filling lighter

I won this in auction a couple of weeks ago ,I do enjoy new old stock in its original packing complete with instruction sheet with a parts list in the back also the adaptor to fit other Tilley models ,the patent number is 355869.

I have the same box with a different part.
Now I know why it doesn't quite fit.

I believe this is the first time I have seen the word “obviates” used, although the meaning is quite clear.

I've read and re read the description given in the instruction sheet and I don't see any mention to the adaptor ,but it has the same patina and fits like it belongs .
The question now is whose selling their part to the other person ?
