I won this in auction a couple of weeks ago ,I do enjoy new old stock in its original packing complete with instruction sheet with a parts list in the back also the adaptor to fit other Tilley models ,the patent number is 355869. marten
Your post solves a mystery for me. I have the same box with a different part. Now I know why it doesn't quite fit.
@Madras Congratulations on winning a rare find. I believe this is the first time I have seen the word “obviates” used, although the meaning is quite clear. Regards Jeremy
@Anthony I've read and re read the description given in the instruction sheet and I don't see any mention to the adaptor ,but it has the same patina and fits like it belongs . The question now is whose selling their part to the other person ? @X246A thanks for the congratulations . Yeh I can't ever remember hearing obviates either? unless I wasnt listening properly ,again @Jean J Thanks , it was e bay where I found this item . Marten
@Madras Nice find and great to see the paperwork Hi @Anthony I don’t know if it’s a help but there are threads sculling around about these.. Here is a pic of a thread which shows a photo of one from the gallery thanks to Dan D
Here’s an old discussion about that adapter ring that I’d forgotten about… Tilley Guardsman with unusual control cock arrangement Tony
