    Hi I have a Tilley TL 106, Its not keeping pressure and goes out within a few minutes, however many pumps I do. As well as a full seal change, I have replaced with items from from my Tilley KL 80 which works fine, burner, control cock & valve, pump valve, & washer, vapouriser. Cleaned out the tank & fuel tube with a fine wire & airline. Still pulsing & going out . Help please !

    Hi @Del Allen
    Sounds like you have covered most things.. swapping parts is a good way of eliminating and pinpointing a fault.
    Did you clean/rinse out the tank a few times when you first serviced it?

    Did you do a ‘dunk test’ in water at all? if there is an air leak around the pump thread or higher up it may not be noticeable?
    Were you able to use the complete pump from your KL ? they have been known to have a crack in the tube

    how much fresh paraffin are you putting in?

    perhaps other members will be able to help here..
    @JEFF JOHNSON @Henry Plews

    hope you can get it sorted

    Thanks for the advice, Dunk test done again no bubbles under pressure,changed the complete pump in case there was a crack, new paraffin in, about half a tank full, doesn't get really bright, still dies off ! compared to my other lamps. May bring it to Newark in June so someone else can shed any light into it not working as it should. Thanks Del

    Well logic would dictate that the pressure is either going somewhere or there is not enough to start with. If loss/lack of pressure if the problem, but releasing the pressure as it goes out should let you gauge how much there is ? Can you attach the TL to a different font and try that ?

    @Del Allen Hi mate, that's a Tilley TL136, not a TL106, just so you know.
    So did you find what the problem was?
