    Hi guys im a newbie from New Zealand. I just bought this lantern on facebook marketplace.
    I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on how to get it started.
    Any idea why it was flaming like this and not lighting up? 20240727_185256.jpg 20240727_185307.jpg 20240727_104644.jpg

    I got the generator nice and hot, I thought it would just glow up nicely?

    Welcome !
    Ooh where to start?
    Check jet is done up.if it is the removable version.
    Kerosene/paraffin not lamp oil
    Pressure? How many pumps and is the valve working? Is it losing pressure anwhere else ?
    Did you make sure that there are no obstructions in the air intakes? Insect nests are common
    It is a process of elimination usually.

    @Clintthemint

    Welcome. That is a very nice lantern.

    Advice above is correct. Essential is:

    1. Make sure your lantern holds pressure before you try to light it.

    2. If it’s holding pressure properly, follow the lighting instructions to the letter. Light with the glass off until you get the thing operating properly.

    3. Make sure the fuel is kerosene, not something else.

    Cheers

    Tony

    You might consider doing the next light-up outside? I think I can see four different cans of fuel and gas within 2ft...
