Hi guys. I have just secured some Camping Gaz lanterns which are in need of some TLC to make them look loved. Three of them have the cylinder stuck at the moment and are currently under the influence of Plusgas to loosen some rust. What I could really do with is some instructions as I’m not totally sure how to remove some of the cylinders. I’ll also need them for some parts ordering. The current Gaz site only caters for current model and not old ones like mine.
Is anyone aware of an enthusiast site or anywhere that deals with older models. I think these maybe circa 1990s.

You mention a gas ‘cylinder’ but you mean a disposable, pierceable gas cartridge? By ‘stuck’ I don’t know what you’re referring to. Valve-to-cartridge?

I compiled a post HERE on Classic Camp Stoves where I dismantled a Campingaz valve to discuss some safety-critical sealing issues and the importance of having a freely-moving sprung-loaded piercing plunger.

Thank you for that it looks like it will come in useful. Yes they are indeed disposable cartridges. They are pushed up inside a metal housing and then a baseplate is inserted and twisted to lock, I think. It is this part that has become stuck as it won’t turn left or right.

Before you can turn the baseplate the burner or lantern has to be screwed off. The valve is shaped to give you a good grip to do that. Sometimes, corrosion can make this very difficult. A little smear of acid-free vaseline (can be found at any drugstore) when re-assembling will help to prevent that.

They made a vast number of different models over the years. An image would help.
