Started working on this little beauty today. Seems like it was dropped from a height. the posts and the collar near the burner were rearranged on impact. I managed to disassemble and straighten the parts but on doing so I buggered up the screws. ( I personally blame the impact )

Screws and threads are not my strong suit, but I know people on here know things and stuff.

So there are eight screws altogether. Four on the bottom and four on the top, two of which are larger than the rest, these two pass through the handle mounting lugs and into two posts. ( yes, I'm just making up these names cos I don't know what they're called )

My question is anyone know what size they are and where they can be got. Can they be got off the shelf or are they Bialladin specific.

It may be best to contact them first to make sure they're the correct length.

Indeed they are, which is a pain in the bum when you have loads of 4BA and 6BA brass screws in the stores, but no 5's. W&B seem to have had a penchant for odd number BA threads...

I'm in Ireland and BA screws just can't be got of the shelf. You gotta love the Internet and this site for this type of thing.

It hasn’t been fired up in years so perhaps was some accumulated corrosion/verdigris on the burner heating up? or sometimes if you use cleaning or penetrative oil that can cause different flame colours
No yellow flames that I can see, so

Green from Copper ions in the flame. You can see how it has been flame cleaning oxidation from the spigot. It is nearly all done.

Podbros I didn't use any penetration oil, just gentle persuasion. But I have to agree with yourself and JonD. When the crud burned off, it assumed a nice blue bunsen flame, WhatsApp Image 2024-08-06 at 19.41.04.jpeg

I cleaned it up a bit with elbow grease and a bottle of Jiff, but there was a fair amount of chrome pockmarks revealing the brass underneath.
I may just go with the battle scars.

I also noticed that when when I unscrew the bleed screw that it is very slow to down pressure. ......I sprayed it with diluted fairy liquid and it bubbles well indicating no blockage. Is this normal ?

I made the mistake of unscrewing the bottom of the vaporizer ( I was looking for the jet cleaner spring.which I found under my left foot  ) and I now have a slight leak there. It doesn't take a seal. Any suggestions on how to stop this leak ?

Thanks for all the advice guys...

I put copper based grease on the threads and make sure the fitting is tight !
