I’m trying to see if we can work out approximately when this globe may have made.

It is very light and feels rather delicate:

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Best regards

It is not the normal text on the early glasses, but similar. If I had to guess, I would say early 1930s.

    Thanks, Nils.

This glass will go into security!

Glass dates can be found here: Petromax.nl
    Just scroll down a little.

Looking at Wim's list 1905-31 or 1958-81. But they stopped making the 300 in 1957 (I think) So yes - put it somewhere safe

    Glass is a replacement part.
I guess until the new petromax company arrived on scene, it was normal to get a Petromax 500cp globe with the original old E&G markings on it.
I can't imagine that these are old new stock, as we like to think, but nobody cared about it.

    Thanks, @WimVe.

The other interesting mark is the “Registered” under the “No. 300”

In the Reference Gallery I can identify the following Optimus 300 lanterns with the same markings on the glass:

    Optimus 300:

    and,

    Optimus 300 and 300P compared

    The lantern on the left:

Other similar globes have additional or absent text.
