Questions about a Tilley lantern

I've recently been given this lamp and know nothing about it, is it an old item/ rare

It’s not rare, and should have a date code on the bottom of the tank. One piece of paperwork looks like it’s stamped 41080 (4/10/1980) but I can’t make out the stamp on the tank bottom.

I would be happy enough if I was given an X246B.

 

I would keep hold of it as we head into a possible net zero blackout time in the UK

 

Even if it is 'only' an X246B, it is NIB so I would expect it is still desirable.

 

It is unfired. Shame it got the ding in the tank.

 

You lucky boy .. a lovely piece of kit .. unfired .. never mind about that small dent .. did you know that the Tilley lamp was made in DunMurry Northern Ireland for years ... cultural heritage for you me boy ... excellent .....
