My last find from France Without markings means before 1924 ? What does the F on the mixing chamber mean ? Maybe France ? I started the very old lantern with a single long match.
It's looking good. I have a few Coleman burners with the cast F. It does not refer to France. Is there patent stamping on the burner air tube? Tony
The features I'm seeing on your lantern would place it in the 1922-23 range. Is there an A or B stamp on the face of the valve wheel? The F embossing on the mixing chamber is a mold identifier. There are many lettered mixing chambers, but the F seems to be the most prevalent.
The D stamped wheel will be a couple years newer. Not uncommon to see those replaced as they were often burnt. No doubt from leaky valve packings.
I own 3 Coleman 327s.They are all from France and they are all non-nickel plated. Two have no markings on the tank and the third is from January 1925 (5 1) . The 327 from 1925 has a different micaglobe. There are two lamps, the handwheel is opposite the filler neck. Two lamps have D on the wheel, unfotunately the third has a newer wheel. I have a storage box for a lamp but I don't know if it's original from Coleman.
I have two of these lanterns they are well built and solid with a clean Q99 generator they work perfectly. I congratulate you on your beautiful restoration. Regards, Titoo.
