    Hi guys. Can anyone recommend a supplier for good quality vapourisers for Tilley lamps and radiators?

    My mate and i bought a few from somewhere that were inexpensive, turned out they were cheap poorly made junk. Nothing but trouble from the minute we tried to use them, big yellow flames from the mantle that just got worse. We went back to using an original vapouriser and all was well again, changed to new vapouriser, trouble again, all 3 or 4 that we bought performed very poorly. My mate is an engineer and we both were suspicious of their quality. (Jet orifice too large and was also off centre) Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

    I've been reading other's post's here about the poor quality of new vapourisers that are being supplied. I just want to do some thorough research on what I should be buying as opposed to what I should steer clear of. Vapourisers are expensive (upward of $90 each here in NZ) I don't want to be buying junk again.

    Suggestions would be gratefully appreciated

    Cheers Simon

    @Simon Henderson

    The Base Camp in UK has new stock Tilley vapourisers, and they test them before selling.

    Cheers

    Cheers Tony. On the strength of that, I'll go directly to them. Very much appreciated. Thanks.

    BTW, Tony. Thanks very much for answering all my questions and queries that I have posted recently. You're a wealth of knowledge. My mate and I a relatively new (barely 10 months in) to this new hobby of pressure lamps, heaters and camp stoves. Everyone has been so helpful and very forthcoming with advice and answers. Cheers guys.

    Simon

    The best way to deal with The Base Camp from the Antipodes is to email them with your questions and orders.

    They provide a very good service and they are straight up honourable.

    Cheers
