Why does some Primus lamps comes with a nut on the hood top and some does not. Is there a reason for this and what’s the pros and cons? Thank you, Eleazar
In 1954 Primus did some design optimisation (cost cutting) and removed the inner cone from the hood. The nut is only needed to hold this cone in place, so from late 1954 there was no hole in the top of a Primus 991 or 1020 hood. I have not noticed any difference when using the lamps.
Thank you for always sharing your knowledge. My initial thought for Primus that comes with a nut just look confident while the nutless looks so clean.
