I’ve just received this globe belonging to a Standard (Joseph Rute) 200 donut lamp. I think the glasswork is pretty special.

Hopefully I get the rest of this lamp (it’s somewhere in the post at the moment).

Yes, Henry, I’ve not seen this before in a curved globe.

I’ll do some careful work on it today to see if the glass has been moulded and/or cut.

    Cheers

Perhaps the segmented glass in U.S. milspec lanterns wasn't the first attempt at economy when replacing damaged glass.

Hello Tony, I have a 6 sided globe like the one you have posted, the glass looks to be cut looking from the ground.
I only got out of hospital today and can not climb a ladder to have a better look.
Mine looks like some one has straightened the 3 tabs and bolted it to the shade. I always thought it was home made to keep the light in use maybe not now seeing your one.
    Cheers Mark.

    @Marko57

Thanks, Mark. Mine are cut at the sides at least, but I’ve been too flat out to take it apart yet (and I’m on jury duty today).

What lamp is your globe on?

I hope you recover quickly after your trip to the hospital.

    Cheers

    Tony

Nice globe Tony. Wouldn't want to be looking for a spare!

The globe can be extracted by turning up the rusty tabs holding it is place.

I have done so to work on the rust, but I won’t pull it completely apart as I don’t want to damage any of the glass fillets.

And by way of a corrigendum, the model is Standard 200A:

Thanks for the get well wishes.
I can't tell from the ground who made my lamp as the shade has no markings on it.
How odd is this, mine also has a wooden handle.
I did take a pic of it but my phone will not connect to my pc to down load it, bummer.
    Cheers Marko.

What's the odds of us both having a 6 sided globe with a wooden carry handle also.

    Wo! That’s a real small chance, @Marko57.

My globe originated in Surabaya, Indonesia.
