The plate glass pieces in the Tilley FL6 vary a bit in size, spacing before and after hyphens and some omit the 'Hendon' part. Just thought it interesting.
Thanks @podbros for that idea. Maybe it might be. I am uncertain. Good point too on the AL21 glass being marked as well. Somone else has also reminded me of that. I guess I'm just hoping these changes may be useful in future dating of the floodlights; not super-important though.
Yes, 1960 is later I suppose i was thinking after (the move).. they wouldn’t dare put Hendon on a Dunmurry FL, would they??
I wasn’t really responding to your “later” comment; but now that you’ve raised Dunmurry, I expect that if Tilley still had Hendon glass in storage it would have been used on NI Tilleys. Cheers Tony
Nice ..I bet they did.. lashing perfectly good x359 hoods onto whatever they could lay their hands on! sorry Iain, getting off topic..
Not a worry at all @podbros as good info. Actually I saw a Buy it Now item on an auction site and it was a FL6 with documentation. The FL6 glass and label indicated made in England Hendon or whatever it was but the documentation and shipping papers clearly showed it was being sent from Northern Ireland. I thought; interesting. Good reference info there too @Tony Press ; thanks for sharing that. @Tim Read Thanks for showing the nice AL21 with just TILLEY on it.
