A Tilley that gets hot, but does not shed light.

    I have just got my mits on a Tilley that does not give any light.

    Have you had it running yet, I've got two of these and had them both working, they get very hot, not a good idea to try ironing delicates with.

    Nice iron in reasonable condition. Good to have the spanner tool too.

    I have one that I took a photo of and sometimes when I look at it I see it raised above the carpet and at other times it appears as if the tool has been pressed into the carpet. Neat optical illusion.

    A bit on playing, no new bits.

    Soaking the old cup washer in warm ground nut oil, had it working.
    The NRV was striped and cleaned, gunky to hell.

    Pre-warming, the smell of burning dust made Defor walk away.

    It is burning nicely.
    Was a bit pulse happy at the start, but fiddling with the control valve had it working a treat.


    Happy Me,

    Used to press my work clothes as well.
