Hi fellas, dose anyone know about the Templers knight cross on on the Tilley pump. It’s not on all but ?
After looking on wiki it seems to be a Dingbat or signature mark used in graphics.. best to have a browse but here are some photos from the web which may or may not help
At the time I was of the view that it had no meaning other than as a stamp to separate two sections of writing. That is, no inference of Templars or the Prussian Cross or the German Iron Cross. I shall look in my spare Tilley pumps box to see if I’ve got it on any. Cheers Tony
The pump on this lamp is stamped as such: Tilley EX4 (1936 - 1939) As are pumps on my other 1930s Tilleys such as this PL53: Tilley PL53 (circa 1934) Cheers Tony
