Temples knights cross on Tilley pump

Hi fellas, dose anyone know about the Templers knight cross on on the Tilley pump. It’s not on all but ?

 

It is an Oak Island lantern...

After looking on wiki it seems to be a Dingbat or signature mark used in graphics.. best to have a browse but here are some photos from the web which may or may not help

I’ve seen it before, and discussed it with, I think, @Anthony. I’ll have to refresh my memory.

Interesting I've never seen one.

 

@Tony Press , we did talk about it but it was a long time ago.

 

At the time I was of the view that it had no meaning other than as a stamp to separate two sections of writing. That is, no inference of Templars or the Prussian Cross or the German Iron Cross.

I shall look in my spare Tilley pumps box to see if I’ve got it on any.

Tilley EX4 (1936 - 1939)
