Kindest regards , Hugh. PS...Just noticed the upload file button ...will try later.
Gooday @Hugh from very hot 31C Victoria, Australia. Does your Tilley have straight sides or angled? Either way a great lantern to restore. Welcome to CPL.
Many thanks for the info and welcome lads..Shetland all the way t Australia ...canna be bad. Will try a pic here see how it goes, been in the family since new and im fairly confident the only replacements are the seals..old ones still had gold paint on them, and mantles obviously , dated 1260 so doing ok ,its got 6 years on me..cheers again Hugh.
There are a few lassies here too Hugh (in my case more of an aul’ wifie) and if you decide to start collecting you have a few very knowledgable collectors not too far from you who would be only too glad to help with advice.
It looks in good fettle .. and Merry Xmas and Happy NY to you .. light your lantern a few times to celebrate ... from me.. currently in a damp Cornwall , UK
High @Hugh I live in Glenfinnan so in Scottish terms we're neighbours! If you need any advice or some hands on fixing, we can always meet up or you could pop over. Summer is always best as there's more light, more time and it's not so cold and damp in my workshop!
Hi Colin, Many thanks for the reply, I often take several trips over to Mallaig every Summer im sure I could stop off at Glenfinnan for a day..many thanks. Hugh.
Many thanks Jean and sorry for no mentioning the Lassies Ohh..aye there's been a great response . Cheers, Hugh.
