    Hi guys

    I recently purchased this 1950-54 X246 on account of it having a thin bezel rim pump. I wonder if this speculum plated thin bezel pump was a transition to the later or more typical thick rim bezel pump. Is it possible this X246 is a transitional (1949/1950) model with this style of pump? ie, a brief follow on from the earlier porkpie X246 model??

    Any ideas??

    Cheers Simon

    @Simon Henderson

    You’re probably right. The globe and hood fit the period, and these speculum plated “pork pie” pumps aren’t very common.

    Thanks Tony. It did make me wonder whether it was a transitional type therefore, making this X246 possibly a late 1949 or early 1950 model?

    I’ve just checked my plated lamps, a TL10 and 2xKL80s and they all have this style of pump.
