Sweet! @bp4willi i did a little bit of research using Google and it cost around $700 usd and in the major stores listed on the manufacturer website is NOT available.
I'm glad that the video was of interest to you both. The heater is an odd mixture, the burner is very similar to a Primus stove silent burner and the heating element looks like the type of element which was used on some drip fed heaters and the rest of it looks like a lantern tank and cage, it's certainly a unique design though.
Very interesting. Nearly everything is hand-crafted to some extents. Not surprising that it won't be cheap.
Very interesting and very informative. A very skilled craftsman, hence very expensive. Gives a better understanding of how they're made, lanterns, stoves and heaters.
Thanks Jeff. Over on CCS https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/coil-heater-enthusiasts-gathering-in-japan.55427/
Hello Martin, thanks for the link, however, I'm not a member of CCS., so I could not view the page, Jeff.
Thanks for the video, certainly a innovative heater and would love to have one. Alas the exchange rate for me is woeful so no go.
@JEFF JOHNSON @ROBBO55 Even though it was a stove meetup, I brought some kerosene lanterns. So maybe I should post some pictures here. If not, I'll delete them later. Five people who love liquid fuel stoves got together. It was a cold night with temperatures around 0°C, but the time flew by as we all chatted and ate delicious food. Some people had come from as far as 550km away from my home, but we had such lively conversations that it was hard to believe we had met for the first time. Three of the participants are fans of Japanese stoves such as Takei burners and Manaslu stoves, and brought many with them. I also brought along some vintage and homemade stoves, but I was so excited taking photos of the surrounding scenery that I forgot to take photos of my own stoves. I was only photographing my lantern. This was my first time meeting Mr.HONDA , the man who inspired me to make Frankenstoves. He was a very friendly gentleman and someone I respected. I was happy to have the chance to actually touch his work. A report from a stove lover in Japan.
@JEFF JOHNSON @ROBBO55 One of the participants at the meeting was an owner of the Kaihara Burner that was featured on YouTube. He seemed dissatisfied with the Kaihara Burner. He said that the Takei Burner was the best in terms of finish. I don't own one, so I don't know the details of what he was dissatisfied with. My personal opinion is that it's great that he's making a new homemade burner and selling it. It's a shame that it's too expensive for me to buy.
