This lamp - stove conversion set was made by Watcor Ltd. Cape Town South Africa. As far as I know they were a stove manufacturer that was bought out around 1970 by Commercial And Domestic Appliance Corporation (Cadac) Johannesburg. CADAC also bought Johannesburg Metal Pressings about 1974 and we assume this lantern combo just pre dates these buy outs because later product is branded APEX. ::Neil::

Thanks for sharing this info, Mackburner.
Being a South African, I am impressed that SA had it's own "horse in this pressure lantern race"!
Mine burns with an extremely stable flame and runs extremely quit! In fact, its percentage relative range in light stability at 1000 lux, (in my test rig), is only 4%. (Percentage relative range = (max - min), as a % of average lux level). I adjust pressure, to have a lux level at 1000 lux, in my test rig.
Most lanterns perform above above 10%.

Sadly, Mackburner (Neil McRae) went to the big lamphouse in the sky a couple of weeks ago. :-&

He now needs his R.I.P. I would think...
