AGM 287?

    Hi fellas. Is this an AGM 287? Found only one in the gallery. Looks similar others have a big hat. Any information, date etc image.jpg

    Hi Darryl, yes, that is definitely a 287, i have the big hat 288, that is a great lantern, just a hint, don't pull out the carburetor valve on the tank unless you really have to, they have a small needle ion the end and are quite fragile.

    The blue bits look to be in very good condition, great find and very cool.

    Very nice AGM 287. I have both, the 287 and 288.
    Be careful when you disassemble the lantern. When you take the wrong sequence, the feeding pipe sheares off. I had mine soldered back together again after the previous owner broke it.

    Picture of the feeder pipe on a 287 in the fettling process. A very delicate pigtail of copper tubing. I am glad I read this thread first before taking apart this lantern. IMG_20250315_224749241.jpg
