Bonjour à tous I found this petrol-driven Petromax 819B at a flea market. It's in average condition, and I haven't even started to recondition it yet. I didn't think this model was so rare, as I can't find any post about it even on this reference site.
Hi to all, in my Erich & Graetz archive this lamp appears in the years: 1928, 1929, 1930, 1932, 1934, 1936, 1937 and 1938 Leaflet from 1928: And one from 1929: Regards Jörg
@jluc14 A great find! Thanks for posting it. There should be a manufacturing date scratched by hand at the tank bottom. Numbers are located closer to the rim and sometimes barely visible. Please try to find it and post some pics. all the best, Piotrek
@leo Thank you for all this information. I knew you were the "man for the job". What's the difference between Petroleum, Gasolin & Benzin ?
@Jörg Wekenmann These are great documents. Thank you. Interesting that there was some early, different Petromax 827 model. Not the one with rapid, but for alcohol. Piotrek
OOOOPS I made a mistake about the person ! So, @Jörg Wekenmann Thank you for all this information. I knew you were the "man for the job". What's the difference between Petroleum, Gasolin & Benzin ? I'm not sure for Gasolin & Benzin, for me it's the same. @Piotrek Thank you for opening my eyes to my personality error !
Hello Selig33, Gasolin was a light gasoline that was sold by the Gasolin company with its own network of filling stations. There were also various other types of gasoline sold by this company. The best way to illustrate this is with a diagram I found on Google. Greetings Jörg
I'll have to come here more often... I've got some lamps for you to see. Thank you very much for the information
