This little beauty appears to have had little to no use. The mantle has been attached and burned, there’s some soot on the Preston loop, but the rest of the lantern is flawless! The inside of the tank is nice and shiny, so I suspect this lantern was either lit once or only had the mantle burned in. Stamped 4908 under the fount. Week 49, 1980 perhaps?
A very nice example. Without stress cracks in the carrying frame. That is rare . Week49,1980 that's how I read the date too. This Hipolito H-201/250V was also available with a red enamel hood. The Hipolito H-201 was also sold as the LANTERNE D-205/250V. V stand for Velas and means candles.
@Merlin Not specifically for this model but there are many lanterns which work on the exact same principle, irrespective of candle power and instructions can be found in the Lamp Reference Library e.g. Fama Portugal Lanterns or you may find this easier to read Petromax 821,826,523
Hi, I'm new to the group and I've recently accepted a hipolita h 201 that needs a globe. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or does anyone know the globes measurements or have one that they wouldn't mind measuring. THANX in advance for any info you could give me.
Every Globe for a 200/250cp lantern will fit in your lantern. Petromax 821, 827, Optimus 200, Optimus 1200, Hipolito 202... Detailseite: Ersatzteil- und Zubehörliste Petromax 250 HK No. 74
Which petromax parts would fit this lamp? I read that its production was moved to Portugal. Thanks in advance
