    @Sammi Jane
I’m a bit late to this thread but just now read of your trip to the fettling ward (hospital corridor?) to get your inbuilt pump issue sorted. I hope that’s been resolved and that you’re on the mend.

Looking at where they are on the map, it's the middle of nowhere, so they probably don't dispatch every day. :-k

Ted was litted at 13:15 with a full tank, I poured out what was in the bottom of the tank, which was about a quarter of a pint before refilling and he's been pumped up to full pressure. :D/
I'll note down when he needs to be pumped up again, and how long I get out of a tank. :-k
I'll repeat the experiment with my other lampses and see how they compare. :-k

Indeed so. The last time I ordered from them (circa 3 weeks back) it was about 1pm Friday afternoon and it arrived about 10 days later. Lesson learnt...

Well I phoned up at about eleven o'clock and it arrived the next day, but where else can you get new parts, especially vapourisers.? :-k

Ted has now been running for three hours and there's been no visible change to the light output. :D/

Yes, I've had no problems thus far with the half dozen Tilley 169's I bought off them. But they've only had a couple hrs running time each. I've heard mixed reports about quality, but all good here.

The latest report on Ted is that as of 18:47, he has been running for five and half hours with only a slight drop in light output from starting with full pressure. :D/

If you know when Tilley are likely to dispatch goods, you can factor all of that in. :-k

I gave another 50 pumps after running for 8 hours 45 minutes when there was a noticeable drop in the light output.
And it's now coming up to a total run time of 10 hours, I'm not going to be going to bed any time soon...

I finally turned Ted off after 12 hours and 13 minutes of being litted. :D/
I'm a newbie on the pressure lamp scene, so some pointers to where 'anywhere' is would be useful. :-k

I must admit I'm not sure what @David Shouksmith meant by 'anywhere'. New vaps are either Tilley or Base Camp, but there will likely be other places. I've just asked the staff here at Tesco in Sudbury where I happen to be currently and curiously no vapourisers. Imagine my surprise....

Sorry, I should have said, 'anywhere but Tilley'. From memory, we've had reports of vapourisers with no jets, two jets, jets too small, jets too large and jets at an angle. Their strategy seemed to be just buy cheap from the Far East and replace any that didn't work. Hopefully, by now, they've got to grips with the quality issues.

Try eBay and other online auction sites, antique / junktique shops, fleamarkets, jumble sales, charity shops, conventional auction houses, autojumbles etc. looking for BNIB (brand new in box) vapourisers with the greaseproof wrapping intact. Signs of burning at the top are normal - it's from when Tilley tested them before leaving the factory. Pricker wires should be clean. The latest one I bought (last year) was £12 from an antique shop in Barnard Castle - I also had an eye-test at the opticians next door! Don't buy second-hand, used, refurbished and so on. Quite a few folk seem to remove old vapourisers, stick them in the box the replacement came from and then chuck them in with the other Tilley bits they've accumulated over the years. Don't ask me how I know...

    UPDATE:

The final total for running on a full tank is 12 hours 13 minutes plus 1 hour and 4 minutes, making 13 hours and 17 minutes.! :D/

@David Shouksmith, for now I'm going to buy from Tilley, at least until I know exactly what I'm looking at. :-k
Buying from other sources you end up with buying summat that's 'sold as seen', and I could just be wasting my money, at least Tilley replace faulty items.

Yes, you need to know what you're looking for - exactly as I explained above. You just can't beat a BNIB, NOS vapouriser, especially for £12. Note the intact rustproofing paper, shiny tube, small signs of scorching at the end where it was tested before it left Tilley all those years ago...

The problem is that up here in the Frozen North, I don't have a plethora of places I can go to and find these gems. :(

I've got a couple of NOS 606 vaporisers in my eBay watch list.

Ha ha @paul m only animals I might find in there are mice but I do have an old photo from when this was a working farm and there are a few pigs to be seen it. Mainly bits of lamps, globes that I’ve no use for, bikes, hedge trimmers, bit of my Mum’s old furniture. Handy place!

@Sammi Jane ... a bit like Presscall I am also late to this thread.

I'm sorry to hear about your dicky ticker, but as a fellow dicky tickerer ( 11 year stent veteran, with clusters, bar, and ribbon. ) I was told not to lift anything heavier than the remote control for the telly.......at least thats what I heard him say. The minister for job allocation and grudges would say she heard it differently.

The meds work a treat keeping the pipes clear.
I just cant get them into a vapouriser.

Those cards behind the control knob are usually only found on unfired lanterns and are discarded after first lighting.
