    Just got this, since getting a cap for the Thermos lanterns to pressurize the tank with a compressor or bike pump, instead of the pump with all the orings, have been acquiring a few Thermos lanterns, the single is fairly rare and uses the better pump instead of the style integrated with the fuel cap. I need to clean out the tank of old auto gas and see what else needs fettling. Original box and globe, with paperwork.

    Thank you, hope to start working on it soon, Spring is here sorta, so gardening and wood splitting need to be taken care of.

    Back together, no start up drama. Held pressure o/n. There was a rattle in the tank, was some solder from the factory as there were no repairs on the tank.

    @podbros

    The Pressure Lamp Catalogue has the Thermos 8311 listed as “Fall 1961 to Spring 1962”; but as a “grey”, not green.

    @hikerduane

    Is there any date evidence on the paperwork or box?

    Cheers

    Tony

    Had to be early 60’s as that was about the time the USA started using Zip Codes and no Zip Codes shown for service center addresses.
    August 2 on Wednesday was from 1964.

    Thank you. This would be a very good winter lantern, it throws out quite a bit of heat, tank gets warm as does the valve knob, too hot to touch for long while shutting down. Put a bigger mantle on it as the Silk Lite mantle was getting overrun.
