got mine up and running earlier changed reproduction tear drop globe for a pyrex onion lit well after the burn in of the new mantle
Welcome to CPL, @robbi. That's a nice Tilley table lamp. I can’t quite see if the flat springs that are used in holding the glass are on the inside of the gallery or the outside. Springs on inside. [From here: Tilley TL10/TL11 (“corinthian”; early 1940s)] Springs on outside. Around 1945 Tilley changed the position of those springs to the outside of the gallery; around that time they also introduced the “onion” globe to replace the teardrop shape. One other question I have: Are there any numbers stamped on the bottom rim of the tank? Cheers Tony
Hi Robbi and welcome to cpl :-) that's nice table lamp there Your lamp may well be 1930’s ? The gallery and burner and pump and the reg number point that way.. if you take off the gf control tap you can measure the depth of the gap in there? The earlier control tap had a long filter on it so tilley changed it later on cheers pb
@Sammi Jane It could be an older gallery, or one of the copied new replacement galleries I’ve seen around. Detailed photos of the gallery and burner required… Cheers Tony
