After purchasing some more lamps recently I was lucky to come across this Tilley wind / draught deflector. After fettling this Tilley 136 I decided to attach it to that. Sitting in the garden at 0600 today 20250605_063454.jpg 20250605_063454.jpg with a fair breeze it certainly works well.

Looks good and the mantle has shaped well  Could I ask what make of mantle you used?

the wind deflector is from an IL 47 donut lamp or similar.. it’s a chimney to help with keeping the heat from the tank, i believe ?

@podbros Good day. Yes you are correct ref the do nut attachment. It was fitted to a tilley lamp which I purchased and made use of this morning as it was an excact fit for the gallery . The mantle was from British Lamps & Stoves they are a new type which I placed on a few days ago and give them my verdict how good they are. Thank you for your comments and if I can help any further please do not hesitate .

I'm pretty sure it's the latter - heat protection for the tank as opposed to a wind deflector...

@David Shouksmith Hi David yes for another lamp. We are approx 80ft ASL here so when it blows it blows. It made a good nice fit almost like it was meant for it. It certainly helped keeping a nice steady burn despite the wind that morning. Thank you for your reply.
