    Hello!

I came across these lamps today at my local resale/thrift store and purchased them because I enjoy vintage items. I am new to the world of classic pressure lamps. I do not necessarily plan to keep them for myself and would appreciate any advice for cleaning them up. What products would be best for removing burn marks and rust without damaging the finish? The Phoebus 615 appears to be in very good condition, but the 625 looks as if it was used quite a lot and needs the most cleaning. Thank you for any help you can provide! Hello @EmilyUS64 and welcome to the forum!
Your two items look great and the lantern seems to be unfired to me.
Both devices are designed to burn gasoline/petrol, and therefore the integrity of any seals and gaskets is essential. Rubber hardens with time and I recommend to replace any of them before you start to operate the lantern and stove.
Please note that the handwheel at the Phoebus 615 is operates a rack and pinion drive which allows to shut off the fuel in the lower position, and to clean the jet in the upper position by pushing the cleaning needle through the jet.
Besides that please read as much as you can here in the forum, especially before any attempt of restoration.
Good luck, and have fun with your new items.
