Looking for some assistance with finalizing my restoration of a Feuerhand 175 baby special. in the photos you can see the font fuel cap threaded piece has collapsed (when killing/converting the rust) and is stuffed. the outer embossed cap is fine so could be re-used. can anyone identify which other Feuerhand models use this size cap (as a donor). Or is there other lamp brands that use this size so I could use my outer embossed cap and the threaded piece from another? also the leather washer is no more so any source for this also appreciated. I am quite new to this and trying to keep it original. many thanks jody
The new ones are a different size I know the “new” Feuerhand 276 models and replacement caps are a different size to the older vintage 175 model I have. maybe other vintage lamps have the same size, hoping somebody might know something.
Hello Jody, You have a pre-war FH 175. All fuel caps from models No. 75, 225, 235, 275, 276, 201, 305, 323, and 327 would fit here. By the way, the seal is made of cardboard, not leather. Best regards, Jörg
Thankyou so much for this info. Do you know if any other brand caps have the same threads. Just thinking I could re-use the embossed cap with another threaded inner part? being in a Australia it’s hard to get FH lamps and parts :-(
Hi Jody, the thread on the original fuel cap has an outer diameter of 19.4 mm. Any fuel cap with this diameter should therefore fit. Here in Germany, we have a collector who manufactures such fuel caps as reproductions. They fit perfectly! If the shipping costs weren't so high, I could send you an original fuel cap! Best regards, Jörg
hi Jorg surely postage would not be too bad (item is so small) I would like try to source 2 depending on costs? is this something you could help with or direct me to the manufacturer for a reproduced one? your help is greatly appreciated
Hi Jody, I have plenty of these fuel caps here, both original and reproductions. I'll find out how much it would cost to ship them to Australia. Best regards, Jörg
