Replacement HD44 Syle Hood Cap

Hi Knp, the tank is steel under the paint. I used plastikote super gloss medium grey, or something like that. Best regards Matt.

 

I'd be interested to see how that turns out. I bought a couple of Steves caps and was just going to leave them as bare brass and let them age naturally. Will you be firing you lamp after you have painted the cap? Be interesting to see how the paint stands up to regular/repeated/frequent/daily use.

I have some very high temparature spray paint in black.If it cannot stand the heat I will revert back to plain brass.

 

I don't mind the term shelf queen...

I only have one pressure lamp, the rest of mine are wick lamps and I tend to give them a good polish when they start to look a bit dull. I love them looking as shiny as possible even though they are frequently lit.

In fact I gave my Eccles Type6 safety lamp a spring clean today..



I don't think it would object to being called a shelf queen...
