    Hi folks,

I realised the mantles I bought (20 pcs from Amazon, green band, made in China) were a bit too large for my lantern.

The original height was 8 cm (≈3.15 in). So, I trimmed 2 cm (≈0.79 in) off, folded the edge, and stitched them back together.

Has anyone else tried this? The result looks really good, but I’d love to hear if others have done something similar, would love to hear your stories!

PS. I’ve fixed the lantern – my problem was the J-tube, which had been completely altered

    Cheers!

In the past I have tied of mantles with a piece of metal wire. It is always a gamble since the shrinkage is not given and never linear ;-)
