This is a nickel-silver Canadian 118 without the Coleman logo stamped on the side of the fount, therefore no date stamp on the side of the fount.

The bottom plate has “1-0” stamped, which could indicate the lamp is from January 1930.

The burner air tube has the 1920 Canadian patent stamp, and the 1922 British patent stamp.

I’ve put the “B” in the model number in square brackets because Neil McRae has this lamp listed in the Pressure Lamp Catalogue along with the 118Bs but has it designated as 118 (Canada).

In the mid 1930s this lamp was advertised by the Coleman Quicklite Company of Australia (and others sellers) as the Duchess Lamp - with Pyrex glass globe and parchment shade. The price was 79 shillings and 6 pence — very expensive! The average wage for men was around 64 shillings per week.

@Tony Press , Beautiful ! That particular mixing chamber having the set screw also fits nicely in this era.

Over this week, I'll get the bits together to set this lamp up as both "Silver Duchess" and "Silver Countess" as described by Neil McRae in the Pressure Lamp Catalogue (and in Australian advertising).
