Hi someone, i got 2 kinds of petromax shade reflector. But i don't know history of reflector. Pls help to understand date of production for reflector. 1. Petromax reflector with black and porcelain plate 2. Petromax reflector with chome plate I want to know period of reflector for each kind of reflector. Thanks,
Hello, the shade, hood or reflector as they are called on your first picture is from the 50's and sixties. The shade with the brownish coloured name is earlier, perhaps pre-war. The chromed steel shade is from about the 80's and are still available even today. Quality-wise not a very durable shade but perhaps they are made in stainless steel also. Especially the two early shades have an increased value (collecting or money-wise) because they are rather rare in comparisson to the number of lamps still available from the same period. Someone with more knowledge of Petromaxes will correct me or will ad more no doubt. Regards, Mike P.S. Welcome to the forum!
Hello, Good question Txminhcoke, How about this one? white & green enamelled reflector. Is this pre or post war?
Adolfo, can you make pictures of the text inside the reflector, and a picture of the outside as well? And choose for large photos, not the thumbnail size, when downloading to your message here.
Hello Meijer, I will.As soon as I get it. Actually It's on its way. I'm sorry to hear about the pics quality. I'll choose large pics next time.
Hello Meijer and everyone! Here you have the photos I promised. It fits a 500hk lantern. Green and white enamel. Any year? Thanks
