....... Victorian Railways History Series No. 1 by Arthur Brook M Sc.

Published by The Central Highlands Tourist Railway
    Daylesford, Victoria 3016 Australia,
    and Arthur Brook 2019

I stumbled across this most interesting book in our local library. It has no ISBN number.
It gives details of : Tilley, Kayen, Gloria, Titus, Tilux, Lux, Kitson & Coleman, as used on our (State of) Victorian Railways last century. Tests results, comparisons, maintenance costs, fuel consumption, light output, etc. And mentions many of the country stations on branch lines long closed and forgotten.

Gosh Paul that sounds really interesting. I think if I were you I’d ‘forget’ to return it and be prepared to pay a fine!

Oh Dear ! I didn't know that @Tony Press had already mentioned this book back in March 18, 2020.

Victorian Railways (Aus): Lamps and Lighting Book

@Jean J I couldn't do that - I've been with this library almost 40 years and seen the oldies retire and the new staff continue their stirling work. Besides, they'll get me most any book I want, or refer me on. No fines these days, just email reminders.

@Jörg Wekenmann Thanks for the links.

@Paul Aslanides I hope you realised I was only joking? I may be an Aberdonian by name (and nature if I’m honest) but I wouldn’t do that.

    @Jean J I do apologize - I took it the wrong way.

I used to be highly strung - Plink.
But now I'm just out of tune - Plunk.

Missed out on a good Scottish night recently - Haggis, neaps, etc. Didn't know it was on. Have to wait 'til next year.

St Andrew’s Day isn’t until Sunday @Paul Aslanides so you have plenty time to find a plate of haggis, neeps and tatties elsewhere. Or you can wait until Rabbie’s birthday in January.

I remember that about twenty years ago I took a book out of the library, it was nothing to do with lighting, and it reached the point where I couldn't renew it again and they wanted an exorbitant price for me to buy it, so I spent a few hours at the photocopier at work.... :-k
I was able to use a comb binder, and now I've got my own copy of it.

Thought you were just an adopted Aberdonian @Sammi Jane but now I see that you’re truly one of us. Smart move!

@Jean J, I've just seen a copy on eBay, and if I win the auction it'll cost me less than a fiver.! :D/
