I have a SL1. The air buttons are missing. Can anyone provide a good picture of them. Alternatively if someone has made replacements can they provide details. Does anyone have literature or a parts diagram. Has anyone made a stand for this or the FL6 who can provide dimensions . Thanks
    Jim

Hi Jim, I have a couple of air buttons on one of my flood lamps. I can't be sure they are the same as the ones you are after so hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will be able to confirm whether they are or not.O:) It's a start though, the dimensions are as close as I could get with a ruler. You will also see that there are some holes drilled around for the air intake. These are 2mm holes and there are 12 of them. If you need any more pics let me know. I also have a three point flood lamp stand as well which I should be able to get dimensions for. Best regards Matt

I had seen the post with the SL1 . Cannot see details of the air buttons though.
Thanks very much for the photos and dimensions. I have a broken one which looks like a star washer on the end and is bent. maybe the lamp fell on it?Anyhow everything seems similar. The tube is a little longer at around 26mm and the "collar" at the end of the tube is chamfered on the tube side. I gather the end is silver soldered on? I think I have enough to go on. Do not know how to add a photo of the remains
Details of a stand would be great
Thanks to both of you who have responded

Hi Jim, glad to be of service :D . I shall take some measurements of the stand at some point, it will take a little more work though. The disc in the end is soldered in, I would guess that is because the holes were drilled from the end before it was fixed in place. As for the photo, you should be able to use the image optimiser at the top of the page. I and probably a lot of other lampies on here would love to see some pics of this rare beast ;) . Best regards Matt

Thanks everyone. Pete how wide and thick is the steel bar used for the stand? Also I cannot see what the detail is where the slots are for the wing nuts. Does the inner bar from the back leg simply continue and the slot is therefore only partly double thickness? The latest picture from Pete clearly shows the air button thanks.I am friendly with Albert. He is a clever fellow. Wonder if he fancies making air buttons. By the way does anyone know where I might get a pair of wing nuts The lamp is dismantled at the moment.Pictures soon

Hi Jim, good to hear you are making some progress. The bar is about 5mm thick. The back leg comes up to the same point as the front and is on the outside. The recess is about 2mm deep which is the same as the brass washer on the wing nut so that brings it level. The pic should show what I mean (sorry about the dust  ) I don't know where you could get some wing nuts but i'm sure if you got stuck someone could make some. Hope this helps, regards Matt

Thanks again Pete. You say the bar is about 5mm thick. What is its width. 25 - 30 mm at a guess?

    Hi
I have been away but am back on the project now. The SL1 is painted and ready for assembly. I am well advanced with the stand. However want some futher info. Pete your diagram says the crossbar is 5.5 inches to the top ? is that correct? Is the crossbar horizontal when the stand is in the using position. I guess the quoted length for the crossbar is the actual length of the piece of steel?
I may have further questions re the top mounting point but we will see how I go. Thanks again

    Hi jim
the cut lengh of the crossbar is 9.5 inches
it is positioned 5.5 inches to the top edge from the floor
it is horizontal this will give you the angle for the apex ok
It dont matter if its exact so long as it looks something like i prefer anything i make up to look different then there is no doubt that it is not original or indended to fool anyone.
    good luck pete

With little patience a pair of air buttons are in hand. I have lent one to Malc and in due course he will make a couple. Busy chap so there may be a delay. ::Neil::
