This lamp came in a very bad state. Battered and rusted. The three nuts that attached the tank to the body were ripped out off the steel sheet. I treated it with a steel brush, a hammer, pliers, heat and cold, steel wool, citric acid, a lot of elbow grease and Hammerite. The nuts that kept the tank were soldered in place. Now it looks much better. It says “Ditmar Maxim, made in Austria”. No number. On first sight, apparently a no. 561. But, it is about 36 cm high, therefore it could be a no. 551, which measures 45 cm (with its glass I suppose). Its missing its reflector. If anybody has a spare one………..
@Gerard This is a Ditmar Maxim 551,I also have one. You would probably have to make the reflector yourself. Regards Reinhard
Hello Reinhart, Thanks for the picture. It confirms mine is a 551 too! To make a reflector, could you please give me the measures? Than I'll give it a try. The measures of the glass too please, these should be available somewhere. Regards, Gerard
