    It’s not that warm for the 23rd of December, but starting to unwind from a pretty intense year of work, and getting ready for the seasonal flow of family (with two here already).

    By the look of the photo you would think it was mid winter. Not what I'm used to seeing in Australia around Christmas time. :)

    Sitting on the verandah on a cool, very calm evening watching the Lesser Long-eared Bats exit the outer wall of the house (about 1/2 hour after sunset).

    Here is where the bats are living. The house is single brick (outer wall) over timber framing. The widows are relatively recent wood framed replacing aluminium framed windows.

    it was interesting to read in the link about how the bats don’t always use echo location and the evolving battle twixt bat & moth :-)
