This 1949 (“AN”) Primus 991 was found in Australia.

In the photographs below it has my homemade brass bail, and a late Schott globe. It came with a Pyrex globe of correct size which is shown further down the thread.

The lantern was heavily corroded in places, and the tank had mud and internal corrosion, but the lamp as a whole was in pretty good shape.

    Interesting handle. :)

What makes you say it is September? Primus dating only shows the year.

In the circle on the bottom, below the AT, there is a 9.

The only part of the stamp on the bottom of Primus lamps that relates to the date is the letters. There is no conclusive proof of what the number means, but there is evidence to suggest that it refers to a work station.

    Thanks Nils,
I am not an authorative on this age protokol.
    To me it looked logical.

    Thanks for correcting me.
