R1 Tilley Heater--purchase fabric mantle

Is it possible to purchase a new fabric mantel for a Tilley R1 heater? I know about the metal mesh ones.

I know that the old ones were made of asbestos. Does anyone make a newer version that isn't asbestos?

 

I have not heard of any.

 

There are only metal Radiator mantles manufactured these days.

As the mantle serves the function of creating radiant heat, I doubt there is a viable cloth alternative to asbestos. Sometimes asbestos NOS mantles appear on the Bay of Evil.
