I've been looking for a strainer and funnel to ensure my paraffin is free from bits when filling lamps. They seem to be both rare and expensive so I'm wondering whether I could use a tea strainer and funnel.

I'm sure a stainless steel one with a very fine mesh ought to do the job, or even a cheap plastic one.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Sooty

Funnels are often listed on Ebay.

An early coleman filter funnel is good, they came in copper or brass then aluminium later on.....

Thank you all for your thoughts and ideas.
My local Screfix has just put a suitable strainer funnel on sale so I will shortly be sorted.
