Hi all, An example of the Gold Mohar lantern No. 560/300 C.P. from the mid-1960s. It has chrome plating for export. This lamp is well-made but required thorough cleaning and adjustment of several parts. It now seems to have regained some of its former shape after lying dormant in its box for about sixty years. It was given to me by a collector in 2024. The yellow markings on the glass globe are simply a dab of yellow paint that can be removed with water. The glass is extremely thin. All the documents and accessories are stamped Gold Mohar. Thank you for sharing and your interest. Regards, Titoo.
Hello Patrick! A very, very beautiful lamp... and especially a cleaning job like you know how to do. Just one question: is this a lamp that comes from India, or is it European made for export?
@Serge Serge, This lantern was indeed made in India by Optimohar Pvt. Ltd., Bombay-79. It's in unused condition; I just find the shade a little aesthetically unappealing, as I think it's too narrow. I think with a good technical overhaul, it shouldn't present too many problems. Regards.
@Reinhard Hi Reinhard, Thank you for your question. Indeed, it would be interesting to try and start the ignition, but since it's never been used, I don't think I'll light it. I understand that it's pointless since it was created solely to provide light. Regards.
