Dears, Please find below Petromax 823. As far as I know it was made approx. 1925-26. It has steel tank bottom plate and no date numbers/scratches visible there. Lamp was in pretty good shape, it required some cleaning, rust protection, seals replacement, new needle & nipple (250cp) etc. but no major repairs. There was no handle so I added a different one from regular big Petromax. I belive that a fuel cap is not original – there is a picture showing cap from my Petromax 823 R (Petromax R 823 DR ) which seems to be correct. Interesting that different vaporizer with "PS5” markings was noted on the lamp discussed here: Graetzin 915 I am not sure about the preheating dish, but most likely it is not original – I just left the one that was assembled to that lamp, because non of other Petromax types (visible on picture below) fit that lamp. Almost all parts differ from Petromax 826 – for example you can compare J-tube and pump to 826 parts. 823 pump and J-tube are smaller. Similar 823 lamp, but without Petromax name was presented here: identification please This particular lamp has that strange mantle holder and I just used big 500-600 Butterfly mantle tied high on it. Not the most user friendly design compared to other Px and required some patience to fit everything right, but I am very happy to have that lamp finally in good working condition. An interesting piece of Petromax early history. All the best, Piotrek
