Paraffin floodlight in a frame stand.
The label on the tank under the text "Import" once showed the logo of a Swedish company (still existant) called Hugo Tillquist. They were obviously importer of this standard floodlight, and practically everyone of this model I've seen here in Sweden has the import-tag and Hugo Tillquist logo.
Unfortunately it misses the glass, and there should also be a manometer directly to the left of the pump (seen from behind).
As you can see on the black mantle, I haven't been able to get it to work perfectly. Yet!

You can see an alcohol version of this model here. That one also has the glass remaining.

Hi! Great looking lamp with its folding stand. Interesting to note the stand is made from channel section steel . I guess it makes it stronger and less likely to flex with lamp fixed inside frame.
Would this lamp come in a travelling box and are there alot of examples in Sweden of this lamp ?
Tilley made AL ,FL and SL lamps but it seems only standard were out there giving the Tilley lamp company a run for their money !
The nearest other lamp makers like Petromax or Coleman got were to add stainless steel reflectors or barn doors to their lamps to throw the light forward .
But this lamp you have here looks fabulous !

    Thanks Mick!
I don't know if they came with a box. Everyone I've seen has just been the lamp itself. I wouldn't say that it's a very common lamp here, but it's definately not a rare one since they do pop up now and then.
You have a point in this company perhaps being the only one giving Tilley a match in dedicated reflector lamps. I do find the Tilleys easier to get in good working condition, though. I haven't managed to get this one working properly, as you saw with the sooted mantle, and I also have another one of these - alcohol fueled - and that one is also a bitch to get in order. But then again... alcohol conversions often are...

    Cheers,

    Christer,

Nice lamps indeed. How did you get the mirror so clean and bright ?

Wim, I guess they are out of good quality.
I have three of these lamps, and they all came out extremely bright after som rubbing with washing-up detergent and hot water.
The Standard I posted [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/3127 today actually has a much brighter reflector than this one!
And no black mantle on that one! It runs perfectly.

Mine was at the petromax meeting last year.
But I must admit that the mirror isn't that bright...

Btw it has a home made stand and burns gasoline /white spirit/coleman fuel or in diutch "wasbenzine".

    Wim, that's not a 3515.

Consulting the reference gallery in here, I'd rather say that you got a 3517.
It looks like the reflector is a bit different on that one. It's not shiny on the backside like the one used on the 3515, is it?
Perhaps they used another kind of material to give the bright surface on yours?

    Christer,
    You are right here.
I only now see that the topic is in the reference gallery so mine shouldn't be here...

An extremely late reply to this thread.
I recently aquired a one like this but when I compared it to the other one I have, and is shown in the post of the 23:d I find a slight difference. This one does not have a rim on the upper part of the thank, that it normally has.
Question is if it is another model or just a matter of the manufacturing process? All other parts are the same as far as I can see.
    Bo
