Well after all this rain past couple of days i spent some time fixing up a lamp i have had for a while but only just got the glass for cheers jeff! Its a Blanchard again 1215 chandelier lamp burner dated june 1923 and by pure chance its using the peerless mantles i got the other week impressed so far with them too. Better than most i have tried and believe me i have tried a lot. Here is a few pictures helps to forget the rain cheers pete
Thanks matthew yes only second time i have seen one of these running i saw neils some years back now at newark they made quite a lot of these so more will turn up i should think just being in the right place like most things down to luck and money!! Tonight was first time i had it running nice light too but runs hot inside needs to be outdoors really cheers pete
Someone's had those globes re-manufactured - they were listed on eBay last week, just shy of fifty quid apiece. I don't know for sure but I don't think too many of them were sold...
I got the impression it was a private seller, Jeff, but I could easily be wrong. Perhaps it was and he also sold some to Base-Camp. Somehow, I don't think I'll ever be needing any - got to get the lamp first... Edit - Yes, just checked Base-Camp and they're £40 apiece. They were ~ £47.50 on eBay. I think my theory is correct...
Great lamp Pete. I wish my reflectors were in that condition. It looks like its hardly been used. I got another one of these market lamps yesterday, a later Barnard model. I'll add it to the reference gallery when I get it cleaned up.
Thanks for the intrest lads yes nice lamp easiest one of these i have ever fettled i really like the original lacquear over the copper tank great colour about it cheers pete
Well ian think your going to struggle to get that running its as short of parts as some of mine are !!!!!! pete
You did Matthew probably only course of action tho ian still you got more than matthew has in the blanchard line for now anyway pete
Now now, take it easy I haven't been collecting a full year yet and i'm quite impressed with my little collection of about 30 or so lamps. The blanchard's will come in time, I hope. I've got feelers out north, west and central so you never know when something will turn up. What I should have said was [strike]Light bulbs?[/strike] you'll find the parts in time.
I count myself fortunate in also having two (different) complete hospital-type Blanchards. But unlike the other Ian, not so much as a single VL1. Ian
Hi Pete, Sorry I missed this post at the time you posted it. I must say that your Double Blanchard is looking good and running very well indeed Pete. Did you have to borrow the burner's from any of your other Blanchard's to get it going?....or did you have the burner's for it? Well done mate. Jim
