The freckled girl... That pair of knobs really captivates me; they add a certain visual complexity to the lamp. Bringing this unit back to life presents a few challenges: the cage is slightly damaged at the top, and the rods have come loose from the upper ring, making it difficult to secure the hood. It’s also missing the ceramic nozzle; I thought a 250cp Petromax one might work, but it fits too loosely, while a 500cp one won't fit into the opening... On top of that, the entire structure is covered in grime. And that’s not to mention the rapid-start knob—it really ought to work, but I have no idea what the internal mechanism looks like; does it use a rubber seal? Even with all these challenges, I still like it, and it will be a fun project. Please excuse my "Google English"... Cheers! Cesar
That looks to be a nice example of a 1940s 1200. The quick starter uses a conical brass on brass valve, so no rubber. The only seal is graphite in the spindle gland nut. As with most quick starters, something eventually gets clogged and it is not easy to clear the blockage. The ceramic flame spreader should be easy enough to find. I would have expected the Px part to fit, but obviously not.
