Hard to see the scale, but it looks like it's almost 16 inch long. Are you sure it's a lamp pump? That wouldn't be my first guess. Pumps for other use also had this appearence.
Could anybody help me identify this lamp pump {admin edit - merge duplicate post as it had more pics}
Hi Stan, Neil (Mackburner) has a good few lamp pumps; I saw them at Newark this year. Some were as big as that one. He has also posted pictures of them in the Lamp Gallery, maybe under paraffinalia, can't remember. They are seldom actually marked with a maker's name. For what it's worth I think that you have a lamp pump there mate. All the Best. Steve
I saw this on saturday and the end opposite the handle looked much like the coleman pumps do. i am wi you steve pretty sure it is a lamp pump but biggest i have seen for sure dont know which tho pete
Hi Steve how are you ? I picked this up from a jumble sale and i didn't really know is was a lamp pump just a guess . I took it to the fleece at the weekend and showed it Mick and Pete and they also thought it was a lamp pump. The whole thing is nearly 16" long
There is a very similar pump in Neil's photo which is shown via the link below, but it's not precisely the same. The problem with pumps is that most of them were not branded, Jeff. http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/128
From the Terry Marsh site your pump looks like one attributed to Evening Star appliances. http://tgmarsh.faculty.noctrl.edu/lantern/pumpsez.html Some antique medical pumps are similar to that design.
