I have a Coleman 220B with a pumps that leaks around the base of the pump tube itself. I would guese that water got in there and froze. Has any removed the pump assembly from one these? If so is the pump soft soldered in? Rick
Hello Rick If there aren't any other suggestions for a solution to your dilemma posted here, perhaps you could try the Coleman Collectors Forum. I seem to remember images of the inside founts being posted there. And discussions of silver soldering etc. Also, Coleman tested their founts to 200psig! I don't know if the standard Coleman pump would even get the pressure up to, or past 90psig. So if its leaking, one must assume that something major has happened to that fount. Perhaps the best policy, would be to hunt for another fount to replace it, rather than risk an accident with pressurised white gasolene. Cheers ThomasL
Thanks for the reply. If that pump tube is silver solderd in than a repaire would meen renickleing the the tank. I think my poor old 220B may be an organ donor. Not to lament, two good lanterns will beniffet. Thanks for the reply. rick
Hello Rick, This is one of the CCF posts that I read. http://colemancollectorsforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/BrazingSoldering-6096841 Cheers ThomasL
Hi Rick, I had the same thing happen on a 427 Quicklite and it also ended up being a parts lantern. Are you 100% positive that its not a leaky check valve at the bottom? Only way to really tell is to put just a little liquid in the tube and then roll the font from side to side to see where the bubbles originate from. Good luck, Dan
I can see bubles around the bottom edge of the tube. Its sad but I've got a lot of good parts here including a good vent and an origanal sand blasted logo globe. Rick
