What to do on a cold, wet and windy day off

    A cold, wet and windy day off...

    Well so far I've browsed a couple of forums, shortly I'll light the fire in the lounge and finally watch an opera I recorded months ago.

    What does everyone else do with such a day off?

    This afternoon, I'll clean out the chicken-house! It is amazing how many "soft eggs :lol: " they produce while sleeping....
    Did a bit of snow-cleaning this morning, till my broom broke [-( . Ah well, it is melting anyway.
    Not much else to do, some reading and some (urgent) paperwork to be done.

    Give your head a shake, dont mention you have nothing too do or SWMBO will find work for those idle hands, get yourself in the shed for a brew and a fettle (you can always stick R4 on if you are really bored)

    Prepare a few scripted lines for when the inevitable shout from the back door comes.

    "Yes love I will be in, in a minute just finishing off fixing my Tilley fettle"

    "2 minutes, I am waiting for my Cheese Scones to come out of the oven" (see Bake off challenge for details)

    If I would have had a day off today, I would have gone out in the forest and done some work there.
    It was a perfect day to start with the tree felling: Not too much snow, crisp and clear sky, -15 degrees (C) and no wind.
    A full day out there with the Stihls and the Optimus 111 stove to make some coffee would have been as close to a perfect day you get, even if somewhat short this time of the year.
    Oh, well... that never happened. Had to go to the regular work for money instead... :cry:

    Go to the garage, and do a cleanup, set aside things you have not used in more than two years and take them to a thrift store/recycling center/etc.

    I did that last weekend and found out I had space in the garage. seven boxes of doo dahs, and old university books not needed anymore went to a new home.

    If I hadn't been at work today, I probably would have got up around 10.30 in the morning, thought of a number of jobs that I need to do (fettling) eat breakfast and get up. By the time I finished looking at ebay and the forums it would be dinner time. I'd then poke my head out the door think bloody hell it's cold out here and then forget all that I was going to do and think oh well there's always tomorrow. :thumbup: :lol: :thumbup:
