Graetzin 915 green

I have never seen a green one before so I bought it even if it was a little bit expensive. I just bought it and I still haven't agree with the seller about the shipment; when it arrives at home I'll upload more pictures.

I think they run on alcohol Jeff, i've got one of those floating around somewhere....

 

Yes, they are alcohol lamps. I have two in black but none of them, like this one, has the globes. They have an external globe and an internal one. Some day I'll find them.

It is interesting the way that the preheating system was resolved and there you can clearly see it.

 

You do get some nice lamps turning up in Argentina. There must be a fair few of these Graetzin lamps "hanging" around so I am surprised no-one has made any reproduction globes. Would anything here fit?

 

Yes, James. It seems that some of these ones should fit. Yes, some nice lamps here but just a few, not many.

Nice find.
Inner globe, three prong, is hard to find. Most have the wrong diameter.

If I am not wrong teh px834 globe fits for the outside.
A original repro would be nice but didn't find one yet.

 

Do you know the nozzle and mantle specificactions? The Petromax 900 nozzle fits there but I'm not sure that this lamps will run fine with it and a soft mantle.

I finally received it and just cleaned it. Apart for the globes and nozzle, the lamp is in great condition, just some minor chips on the enamelled surface and the tank has just a very little dent.

A final question. I do know that for the Petromax pressure hanging lamps there were different model numbers for the copper/brass tanks. So: is this model 915 or is it a different model?

Hello All,
Wim recommended a px834 globe for the outsite. According to www.petromax-shop.de, a glass for a Petromax 834 has an outer diameter of 11.5 cm with collar. But the hole in my Graezin 915 has a diameter of 12.5 cm. Therefore the glass appears to fall through easily.
Karli suggested an HASAG globe, but where can I find this globe or its specifications? Glass for a Hasag Polar No 5 hollow wire light, perhaps?

Did you enquire about the import company? Might be worth to dig for informations.
